RESOURCES FOR SPAYING & NEUTERING
You can save the lives of so many needy kittens in the future simply by helping to control the vast overpopulation or cats. Not only that, but cats who are fixed are less likely to get certain types of cancer, they will not change from their carefree ways as they mature, they will not spray, and they will live longer, healthier lives. What more could you want? Please neuter and spay your pets, and remember to encourage other pet owners to do the same.

There are many spay / neuter programs for cats in the area:  (prices subject to change without notice please contact the agencies listed for current pricing)

  • DELAWARE HUMANE SOCIETY Wilmington, DE (302) 571-0111
    • FRIENDS OF FERAL FELINES PROGRAM (ask for Wendy T.) Free spaying, neutering and vaccinations for strays at shelter. Feline virus tests also available. 
    • FRIENDS OF ANIMALS $40.00 male cats, $55.00 female cats. Certificates purchased at DHS to be used at participating veterinarians. Please call them directly for current pricing.
    • PILOT PROGRAM $5.00 per cat (Residents of Wilmington and surrounding areas on financial aid) Call DHS and ask for Maryanne DeMatto for information.
  • S.P.C.A. Wilmington, DE (302) 998-2281
    • $30.00 male cats, $40.00 female cats (must have rabies shots ahead of time) Please call them directly for current pricing.
    • Pets are fixed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Drop off at SPCA between 8:00 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. Pick up next day. 
    • ROSS FUND for Senior Citizens - 2 Cats fixed FREE Call for application 
    • WILLIAM SCHWARTZ FUND - 2 Cats fixed FREE - Call for application.

    • Certificates from $10.00 to $55.00 (based on situation)Please call them directly for current pricing.
    • Nearest participating veterinarian to DE is in Chadds Ford, PA

    • Ear mite or flea treatments $5.00 each - Tests $15.00
